This keyboard is amazing

Looking around for a TKL wireless keyboard the Keychron K8 kept coming up to the top of my shortlist. After reading a few reviews on Reddit I decided to order one. When it came in, the stock keycaps are nice, if a little thin. Even then, I had no problems connecting the board to my phone for some testing. Everything worked right out of the box, and the included instructions and extra keys for Windows/Mac/Android layouts are great. The sound is really nice, even without the aluminium frame. I did order some PBT keycaps, and put them on shortly after initial testing. The sound is now a bit more of a thock than a clack, and the feel of the dye-sub PBT has a nice thickness and texture on the key. I bought the K8 for use at work and to travel with, and I have gotten numerous compliments on the look and sound at work. The battery life is about 4 or 5 days for my use, which is a bit low in my opinion. That is why I took one star off. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase, the sound, and the feel. If they make a wireless Alice layout I will probably buy it immediately!

Can't overstate how much I love this keyboard. Visually, it's stunning from the unboxing to the lighting profiles. The Gateron mechanical switches are responsive, satisfying, and sound wonderful. Key replacement and cleaning is as easy as it gets.

If you don't know what switches you like, use it for a mix of heavy typing and casual gaming, or just want a pleasant sound that won't annoy others, get the brown switches. Get blue if you prioritize typing and live alone on half an acre. Supposedly red is best for heavy gaming.

The aluminum body was definitely worthwhile, making it feel sturdier, more stable, cool to the touch compared to plastic, and probably contributing to the sound profile.

The bassy taps drew my family, who had grown sick of my previous 6-year-old plastic, clicky, almost wheezy keyboard that I worked and played at for 10+ hours a day, and now they all want one.

Since i first used mechanical keyboards (for work mostly) i was addicted to it. the haptics, the precission, the details for performance.. i love it. i love my work and after work i love to play. from time to time i found out that i have more requirements to my keboard. it needs to be easy to clean. it should have the option for wireless connectivity (via bluetooth), it should run battery friendly. it should be connectable to at least 2 devices fastly. i also prefere the tenkeyless versions, brown switches, backlight and german key layout.. for these criteria there are still some alternatives on the market. but the details are what made me by this the k8. the quality is quite good, even the plastic frame. the typing noise is low (at my earliery keybord i need to apply some extras to achive this, but lost precission :( ). the keyboard is clear and the key colors are helpful but know that that they are a tool and not art.

so in range of high quality keyboards with my requirements this is the best i found and im verry happy.

But i have one issue with it. the wire port. the usb-c wire port is lowered so i can not apply my magnetic adapter (the space around the port is tiny).
I is use the magnetic plug to connect the keyboard and other battery powered device to charge them on regular bases and to use the wired mode without stressing the port. i also can fill the gap between micro usb and usb-c.

The lowered usb port was made to give the special keychron wire more hold, which is a nice idea, but it reduces the universability of the usb.
It would be better if this feature is fully implemented in the special wire only. hopefully this will be thought about in the next version.
If you dont use magnetic plugs. this wont be a downside for you.
